What is RAGT?
More than twenty years ago, beloved NYT bestselling romance author Lori Foster had a simple but powerful idea: create an annual gathering where readers and authors could come together in an atmosphere of kindness, friendliness, and genuine community. She wanted something warmer and more personal than a typical book convention—a place where everyone felt welcome, known, and included.
That vision took root and grew. Year after year, RAGT, as the event became affectionately known, became a place readers looked forward to returning to, and authors were excited to be part of—not just for the signings, but for the shared meals, conversations, laughter, and friendships that formed.
Today, more than two decades later, that same spirit continues to define Reader Author Get Together. RAGT remains one of the premier reader–author events in the country, beloved for its welcoming atmosphere, its strong sense of community, and the way it brings people together through a shared love of stories.

Historically, RAGT has a two-part mission: to bring together authors & readers, with other industry professionals in a very casual, friendly atmosphere with lots of time for visiting. While all these wonderful people are gathered, we also raise money and awareness for some very worthy causes, like the the Animal Adoption Foundation and CancerFree KIDS through the raffle baskets and of course, Lori Foster’s annual benefit book. Thanks to the readers and our book community’s generosity, RAGT is able to help fund some of our local, valuable organizations.

The Get Together is possible because everyone pitches in. Relying heavily on a band of amazing volunteers, an entire weekend of fun happens with authors, readers, publishers, editors and agents with LOTS of giveaways, terrific raffles, plenty of face time with your favorite author, two multi-author book signings, photos, meals, games, parties…, But RAGT’s focus is to make the gathering FUN for the readers.
